Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities Responsible for assisting the Automotive Service Center Manager in the management and administration of the automotive service center daily operations. Directly responsible for the daily operation and supervision of MCCS Typhoon Motors Car Rental personnel. Assist either directly or indirectly in the supervision of all Typhoon Motors employees, approves/disapproves leave requests and completes performance evaluations. Verifies daily attendance and timecards. Prepares work schedules. Ensures that security, safety, and housekeeping rules are followed. Provides on-the-job training, instruction and guidance to employees. Monitors programs on a regular basis, and provides Automotive Service Center Manager with plans of corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS. Approves times for employees biweekly work schedule. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Ensures daily financial documents are submitted correctly and in a timely manner. Manages and monitors operational budget of MCCS Typhoon Motors Car Rental. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. One year of managerial experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage operations and supervise personnel. 2. Must be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of automotive services and repairs. 3. Must be able to apply the mechanics of purchasing and common business practices as they relate to pricing, discounts, delivery, inventory etc. required. 4. Must possess basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. 5. Must possess a minimum of one year cash handling experience. 6. Demonstrate the ability to work independently with little to no supervision. 7. Demonstrated experience providing the ability to effectively manage a multifunctional activity. 8. Demonstrated knowledge of proper hazardous waste handling. 9. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing and to negotiate with various levels of business representatives, customers, etc., in resolving issues. 10. Ability to obtain and maintain a government driver's license. 11. Must successfully complete all applicable background investigations for Federal suitability for employment. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
