Reporting directly to the Deputy Director for Compliance & Operations, the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Equipment is a key member of the administrative team responsible for supporting the daily operations and scheduling of athletic facilities. This role oversees the management and preparation of venues for practices, games, events, and rentals, ensuring a safe and positive experience for athletes, fans, and community partners. Additional responsibilities include facility maintenance, equipment and apparel management, summer camp operations, and game-day support.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, flexible, and collaborative, with the ability to work effectively with coaches, staff, and external partners to keep facilities running smoothly and to showcase Regis Athletics at its best. By maintaining high-quality facilities and fostering a welcoming environment, this position directly supports Regis University’s Jesuit mission by enhancing the holistic development of student-athletes and strengthening community engagement. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Athletic Facility Oversight

Assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Operations with detailed planning and supervision of existing facility maintenance, renovations, and/or new facility additions. This includes meetings with potential internal and external users and architects to plan improvements/additions, and meetings to ensure progress continues within acceptable timelines and budgets.

Oversee, manage, and prepare athletics/event venues and stadiums, including the match pitch, the Field House, the Berce Athletic Center, the baseball and softball fields, and the soccer and lacrosse artificial turf fields.

Serve as the point of contact for the light schedule of the turf fields.

Assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Operations with outside rental coordination and coverage.

Act as liaison between Regis University Physical Plant and Regis University Athletics for all swipe and hard key access to athletic venues for Regis University Staff, Colorado Rapids, and Arrupe Jesuit High School.

Assist in additional duties for proper game operations (softball and baseball field maintenance, scoreboard and music operations, etc.). Provide coverage to respond to troubleshooting issues during home events.

Athletic Facility Maintenance

Coordinate efforts between athletic facility staff and the University’s Physical Plant staff to support the day-to-day upkeep and cleaning of facilities and maintenance.

Ensure and perform day-to-day maintenance of all athletic venues.

Assist in daily cleaning and maintenance of all athletic facilities (i.e., garbage removal, basic field maintenance, leaf removal).

Manage snow removal of athletic venues when necessary, including weekends, early mornings, and/or late nights.

Assist in submitting and overseeing work orders regarding athletic venues.

Athletic Facility Preparation

Ensure and perform daily athletic facility preparation, including, but not limited to, lining athletic fields, inspecting and repairing athletic equipment, cleaning the gym floors, and assisting with the set-up and break-down of athletic facilities for all events.

Act as liaison between Colorado Rapids staff, Arrupe Jesuit High School staff, Regis University facility managers, SIDs, trainers, external relations personnel, etc., to coordinate a safe environment and positive fan experience for all home events.

Secondary contact for coordinating with Event Conference Services and other campus entities on the planning and executing campus-sponsored events that utilize the athletic facilities. Duties include attending meetings, coordinating work orders, renting equipment from outside vendors, and responding to facility issues as needed.

Coordinate with the Physical Plant on equipment preparation for snow removal for outdoor facilities and all accessible paths/walkways/sidewalks to and from these venues.

Athletic Facility Scheduling

Schedule and billing for athletic facilities used by varsity athletic teams, club sports teams, intramurals, Events Conference Services, summer camp groups, the Office of Public Affairs and many outside groups and organizations. Facilities include both natural and synthetic turf fields, the Field House Gymnasium, and the Berce Athletic Training Center.

Help oversee calendar events scheduled at each venue.

Act as liaison between Regis University Athletics and Colorado Rapids regarding all scheduling practices/games, schedule changes and practice and game time delays, field concerns and conditions, equipment use, and classroom use across campus.

Maintain a year-round calendar of Colorado Rapids facility usage and bill them accordingly each month.

Act as liaison between Regis University Athletics, Colorado Rapids, and Arrupe Jesuit High School inluding, but not limited to, scheduling practices/games, schedule changes, practice and game time delays, field concerns and conditions, equipment use, and campus classroom use.

Athletic Equipment and Apparel Management

Manage the athletics staff with the annual ordering and tracking of athletics

apparel.

Act as liaison between Regis University Athletics and BSN Sports regarding equipment and apparel ordering and billing.

Maintain an overall budget of spending on athletic equipment and apparel.

Assist Regis University, Colorado Rapids, and Arrupe Jesuit High School athletic staffs with tracking and replacing athletic equipment.

RU Athletics Team Summer Camps

Assist the Assistant Director of Facilities & Operations with the management and operations of institutional summer camps.

Professional Development

Promote the brand of the Athletic Department and Regis University: continually strive to enhance the image of the Regis University Athletic Department and its programs through in-game conduct, interpersonal contacts, visitors, University faculty/staff, and community citizens.

Fundraise for the athletic department: participate fully in department fundraising activities, fundraising events, university campaigns, and special project campaigns.

Create an Atmosphere of Compliance

Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the NCAA, the RMAC, and the Regis Athletic Department.

Supervise and ensure that any assistants, other employees, and/or volunteers for whom you are administratively responsible comply with the aforementioned policies, rules, and regulations.

Immediately advise the Regis compliance director if you have reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees or students, have occurred or will occur.

Working conditions are indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. Work will require weekend and/or evening hours. Some local, regional, and/or travel is required.?Please note that hours worked may vary weekly to accommodate practice, game, and travel schedules. Flexibility in availability is essential to meet the demands of this role.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree 

The ability to skillfully operate machinery and drive vehicles. Must be able to pass MVR check to meet requirements of insurer.

1 year experience in athletic venue management , 2-5 years preferred.
