Location: Bowling Green, KY Category: Faculty Posted On: Wed Oct 1 2025 Job Description: The Western Kentucky University Psychology Department (www.wku.edu/psychology/) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in school psychology or a related field (e.g., educational psychology, child clinical, or developmental) beginning August 2026. This position will primarily support the school psychology (Ed.S.) program and be involved in other undergraduate or graduate course offerings in the department. Area of specialization is open. Responsibilities for the position include: + teaching graduate (e.g., practicum, research methods) and/or undergraduate courses (e.g., behavior modification, educational psychology) in area of interest, + conducting scholarly research and publishing, + advising graduate and/or undergraduate students, + guiding graduate research as well as serving on graduate research committees (e.g., thesis and dissertation committees) + serving on program, department, college, and university committees, and + other duties as assigned. In addition to our NASP-approved specialist in education program, the Department of Psychology has an undergraduate major in psychology, a master's program in clinical psychology, and a PsyD in applied psychology. The Department of Psychology is housed in the collaborative College of Education and Behavioral Sciences which also has programs in teacher education (including special education), counseling, educational leadership and administration, military sciences, and more. Assistant Professor: Candidate is expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and have an active and productive program of scholarly research. Associate Professor: Candidate must have 6+ years experience in higher education, demonstrate excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, evidence of sustained scholarly activity including publications and presentations, and a record of service to the institution and profession. Full Professor: Candidate must have earned tenure at another institution, have 12+ years experience in higher education, demonstrate excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, evidence of sustained scholarly activity including publications and presentations, and a record of service to the institution and profession.
