Assistant/Associate Procurement Specialist

Job Description 

Digital & Technology (D&T) Procurement manages all global technology sourcing activities for Abercrombie & Fitch. The D&T Associate Procurement Specialist is a central point of contact within the D&T source-to-pay process, facilitating fundamental supplier relationship processes and driving continuous improvements across those processes. We are looking for a highly organized and naturally-curious self-starter with strong critical thinking skills who successfully demonstrates flexibility and agility in a fast-paced and dynamic, digitally-led environment. A person in this role must also be a relationship builder and be able to team up with others, as there are high levels of coordination required between business partners, stakeholders, and key strategic suppliers.   

This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.  

What Will You Be Doing? 

Engage in direct communication with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliersCollaborate with Legal, Finance, and D&T teams to negotiate favorable contracts with suppliersFacilitate supplier onboarding and intake processes, including the third-party risk review for new suppliersSupport Category Managers with sourcing eventsIdentify opportunities for enhanced supplier pay terms and/or incentivesSupport category/portfolio administration and reportingContract administration and records managementResearch and troubleshoot invoice and payment issuesStay curious to improve existing processes and bring suggested plans to provide efficiencies

What Do You Need To Bring? 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience requiredSuperior customer service delivery, communicates in a highly effective, yet approachable manner; able to communicate with all levels of the business across the organization and the globeAbility to execute tasks and meet critical deadlines in a proactive, thorough, poised, accurate, and timely manner, while managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced and often-changing environmentHigh level of attention to detail and meticulous follow-through, coupled with the flexibility to shift requirements and expectations, due to ever-changing needs of the businessA collaborative approach to work; builds strong partnerships with business partnersSelf-motivated, self-starting, and creative thinker; shows resiliency in problem-solvingAbility to follow appropriate protocols to work with protected vendor data and maintain confidentialityOpenness to working alternate hours from time to time to accommodate time zone differences for Asia and EuropeAbility to adapt and work in a fast-paced, structured environmentA collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partnersDesire to learn & hunger for moreStrong organizational skillsInterpersonal skillsPrior exposure to the management of procurement process is a plus
