Asset Maintenance Manager (Heavy Machinery)
Location: Indonesia | Remote Site | FIFO 5/2 Rotation

The role
A leading international mining operator is seeking an experienced Expat Asset Maintenance Manager to take charge of its heavy mobile equipment (HME) operations at a remote gold project in Indonesia. This is a critical FIFO leadership role focused on fleet reliability, safety, and operational performance.
As the Asset Maintenance Manager, you will lead a comprehensive HME program including:
CAT 777 (350T) Excavators
100T Dump Trucks
Liebherr 9350 Excavators
Komatsu HD785 Trucks
CAT D9 Dozers, 18M & 16M Graders
Komatsu PC210 Excavators, Bomag BW226 Compactors
Support fleet: Iveco service/fuel/water trucks, Toyota Hilux utes, welders, compressors, lighting towers, pumps, generators
You’ll oversee a 50-person maintenance workforce.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure zero unplanned downtime
· Manage all consumables and spares: oils, fuels, parts, tools, and equipment
· Work with local vendors and OEMs to ensure reliable supply and cost control
· Lead a strong safety culture through mentoring, training, and compliance management
· Coordinate budgets, reporting, fleet overhauls, and lifecycle cost analysis
· Liaise with procurement and senior management in both the Jakarta HQ and regional support offices
What you'll need to succeed
· MUST have started your career as a Diesel Fitter and progressed into Senior Technician, Supervisor, and Manager roles
· Strong background in mining or heavy industry
· Deep experience managing large HME fleets in remote site environments
· Excellent leadership, safety management, and communication skills
· Must be medically fit for remote site work
Work Schedule
Typical roster: 5 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Working hours: 6 days/week, 10–12 hours/day
