**Job Title: Assembly 1st Shift** **Job Description**
The role involves gathering blueprints, routing sheets, setting specifications, and all necessary fixtures and tools to assemble products as directed. Responsibilities include moving parts to the assembly area, fastening parts together, and using test benches to assist in the assembly operation. The position also includes assembling parts into repair kits and switches, packaging and moving products to the shipping department, inspecting products prior to packaging, and operating a pallet jack for loading or moving materials.
**Responsibilities**
+ Gather and utilize blueprints, routing sheets, and setting specifications to assemble products.
+ Move parts to the assembly area from storage racks.
+ Fasten parts together using bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners.
+ Use hand tools, fixtures, and test benches to aid in assembly operations.
+ Assemble parts into repair kits and switches, package them, and move to shipping.
+ Inspect products before packaging and return rejected products to production.
+ Observe packaging operations and inspect containers for conformance to specifications.
+ Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
+ Tally the number of products packaged or record product information.
+ Operate a pallet jack to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
+ Pack parts properly to prevent damage during transportation.
**Essential Skills**
+ Mechanical assembly and use of hand tools.
+ Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions.
+ Proficiency in reading English and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering prints, and drawings.
+ Effective communication skills with shipping clerks and other personnel.
+ Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
+ Capability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
+ Experience in reading blueprints, routing sheets, and test specifications.
+ Consistently maintain production rates and high-quality standards.
+ Ability to work with limited supervision, in a team environment, and self-motivate.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or GED, or nine to eighteen months of related experience and/or training.
+ Basic understanding of ISO 9001 standards.

**Work Environment**
The position is based in an open production environment that is very clean with excellent lighting throughout the building. Some stations may be louder than others due to machinery.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Mankato, MN.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
