Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

At our Hillsboro location, we produce exceptional electron microscopes employed by scientists and engineers to advance innovation across the globe. This role is responsible for crafting high-grade parts featured in the world’s leading devices used by Nobel Prize recipients and the teams that visualized the COVID-19 virus!

A Day in the Life:

Conduct assembly, alignments, and final configurations of components.Conduct assembly work applying prescribed methods using a variety of hand tools, fixtures, and test equipment.Collect test data, use databases and other office programs to detail the manufacturing process.Participate in resolving production challenges and making process decisions.Assist in the selection and/or set-up of specialized equipment.Perform a wide variety of troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.Perform equipment set-up, calibration, and preventative maintenance.Follow audit and safety guidelines.Participate in continuous process improvement.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

1 year of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience required.Background in precision mechanical assembly and low-volume, sophisticated manufacturing processes required.Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus.Previous assembly experience in a Clean Room environment is a plus.Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Division-Specific Outlook and Access).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Demonstrated ability in efficiently working in a team of 8-10 colleagues.Ability to analyze and address problems independently as well as collaboratively.Ability to assist with projects, conduct training, and work effectively within collaborative groups.Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

Ability to lift up to 35lbs.Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language, and educational backgrounds.Ability to work in appropriate PPE.
