Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembly Technician will perform a variety of tasks in the assembly of mechanical units, excluding welding, across various stations and feeder areas within the assigned department. You will work on assembling mechanical support assemblies according to specifications and ensure the proper sealing procedures for all products. The role requires flexibility to shift between workstations and assembly lines, as well as familiarity with plumbing, electrical work, and the installation of special accessories on units.

ResponsibilitiesPerform all functions in assigned department, excluding welding.Flex to other work stations and assembly lines as needed.Assemble mechanical support assemblies to specifications.Identify and assemble all required parts.Practice and sustain 5S methods for workplace organization.Understand material ordering systems.Execute proper sealing procedures for all products.Read motor sizes and data plates accurately.Perform plumbing and electrical work on units.Work from ladders up to 20 feet in height safely.Familiarize with knockdown packing and crating methods.Install special accessories and ensure proper function and installation.Adhere to ISO procedures, policies, and instructions for quality assurance.Mentor and drive LEAN principles in the work area.Identify and eliminate safety issues in the field and the plant.Contribute to achieving departmental safety goals.Report near misses and track safety metrics.Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.Essential SkillsGeneral knowledge of the construction of BAC-related equipment.Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.Good communication skills to interact professionally with representatives, customers, and coworkers.Understanding of bill of material.Working knowledge of computers including ManMan and PPD systems.Ability to use simple math and basic handheld measuring tools.Capability to understand and react to job schedules.Flexibility and adaptability to change.Regular attendance and awareness of normal hazards.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with hand tools, power tools, and air tools.Ability to read blueprints and tape measure.Mechanical inclination.Experience in construction or mechanical work in a manufacturing facility.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work primarily takes place in a manufacturing facility on the 3rd shift assembly line. The environment is loud, requiring hearing protection, and 95% of work is indoors. Large bay doors may expose employees to weather elements, such as cold in winter and heat in summer. Housekeeping is performed per shift, and workers may end their shifts dirty. Steel or composite toe boots (self-supplied) and client-supplied PPE, including earplugs, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and arm shields, are required. Tools are issued to employees.

This is a Contract position based out of Milford, Delaware.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.66 - $19.66/hr.
