About the Role
As a Security Engineer I, you will maintain and improve information systems security for our organization. You will support foundational tasks in network and web-based security environments. You will also collaborate with security professionals to secure valuable data and gain valuable cybersecurity skills in the process. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals starting their careers in cybersecurity to grow their skills in a collaborative and supportive setting.
Location: On-Site in Raleigh, NC
Program Start Dates: January 15, 2026, and June 15, 2026
Graduation Qualifications: Applicants should have completed their studies in 2024 or 2025, or expect to finish between August 2025 and May 2026.
Responsibilities
Supporting assignments involving the execution of a series of security-related tasks in network environments.
Installing and troubleshooting programs within web-based systems.
Documenting and investigating simple security incidents as directed and monitored by senior-level colleagues.
Escalating incidents following established response protocols.
Assisting in gathering security metrics for presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Staying informed on current industry standards and best practices.
Working under the guidance of senior engineers and embracing development processes.
Performing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Be on track to receive a master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field of study.
Possess foundational knowledge of IT networks and security concepts.
Demonstrate a strong interest in cybersecurity and a commitment to continuous learning.
Be able to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly and independently.
Proven experience with or willingness to learn installation and troubleshooting in web environments.
Have a collaborative mindset with solid communication skills.
Be able to engage with leading-edge technologies while working alongside accomplished peers.
Be part of a team-oriented environment that fosters personal and professional growth by encouraging collaboration and nurturing positive connections.
