Key Responsibilities: * Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM iSeries/AS400 systems, including hardware, operating systems, and related components * Oversee and execute comprehensive backup and recovery operations, utilizing advanced techniques and tools such as flash copy, Mimix, and Global Mirror to ensure data integrity and high availability * Manage system upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum continuity for business operations * Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and perform tuning to ensure optimal efficiency and uptime * Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings to safeguard system integrity and compliance with organizational policies * Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical business data * Troubleshoot and resolve system, hardware, and software issues, providing timely escalation or coordination with vendors as necessary * Apply system patches, service packs, and software updates to keep the environment secure and up to date
