The Amazon Music Artist Relations team is seeking an experienced professional in a key role working with members of the creative community across Hip Hop and R&B, including artists, managers, attorneys, and labels to facilitate increased collaboration with Amazon Music. Based in Los Angeles, the Artist Relations Manager will be a passionate advocate on behalf of customers, educating, influencing, and driving mutually beneficial results.
This role is primarily responsible for managing Artist Relations programs across Amazon Music by working internally and externally with artist managers in the Hip Hop and R&B space. A successful candidate for this role will be an independent, creative problem-solver with great business acumen, and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while managing competing deadlines. This person will lean into artist management teams across the Hip Hop and R&B genres while remaining flexible to work across other genres as needed.

Key job responsibilities
• Facilitate and encourage positive discussions between artists/managers and teams within the HipHop and R&B artist management community (e.g., artist meetings, host/join artist playbacks in office/off-site at our Los Angeles facility)
• Manage end-to-end internal and external pitches and campaign launches for Artist Relations programs (examples: Hip Hop/R&B Breakthrough program, Amazon Music Originals)
• Develop compelling solutions for artists to engage in initiatives with Amazon Music, resulting in business growth for the artist and platform adoption
• Represent Amazon Music on the ground at events, festivals, Amazon Music Live, and industry gatherings to manage Artist Relations communications and build relationships
• Develop key relationships and act as an Amazon Music ambassador within the artist community and the larger music industry, particularly in the Los Angeles market
• Maintain deep knowledge of cultural trends, music expertise in Hip Hop/R&B (while remaining flexible across genres), and industry landscape to make informed content strategy recommendations
• Leverage Los Angeles-based resources including Studio 126 for artist playbacks, Atmos recordings, and content creation
A day in the life
• Organization – At any given time, you will be responsible for intake of touchpoints across Artist Relations, Amazon Music Originals, The Rotation (Hip Hop & R&B brand) team, and pitching artists across the organization for various opportunities. You will need to prioritize effectively and allocate time strategically across competing demands.
• Working with Ambiguity – This person needs to be comfortable succeeding in an environment where they will need to carve their own path, take initiative, and drive projects forward without always having a clear roadmap.
• Dive Deep – We need someone who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and work at all levels, from strategic planning to hands-on execution.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience with strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- 5+ years of experience in artist relations, music marketing, A&R, or artist management within the music industry
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with artist managers, labels, and creative professionals, particularly in Hip-Hop and R&B
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent account relationships, deals, and campaigns simultaneously while meeting competing deadlines
- Experience representing a brand at industry events, festivals, and professional gatherings
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in artist relations, music partnerships, or related roles with measurable impact on artist engagement and platform growth
- MBA or advanced degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, or marketing
- Established network within the Los Angeles Hip-Hop and R&B artist management community, including direct connections with managers, attorneys, and label executives
- Experience working at a record label, artist management company, or artist talent agency
- Track record of developing and executing end-to-end artist programs that resulted in quantifiable business outcomes for both artists and platforms
- Experience in contracts management, including leading negotiations and drafting agreements
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments, taking initiative to define strategy and drive projects forward
- Experience working directly with artists, songwriters, or other creative professionals with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Deep expertise in cultural trends, digital media, and marketing strategy with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Experience with data analysis, analytics, and visualization tools
- Familiarity with spatial audio technologies (e.g., Dolby Atmos) and leveraging recording facilities for artist engagement and content creation

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
