ART Lead - Propulsion Thermal Management

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three days per week, at minimum

The Role

We are currently seeking experienced and motivated candidates for the role of Agile Release Train (ART) Lead supporting Software and Controls engineering team in the Propulsion Thermal Management ART. This ART is part of the VMEC-CB Software and Services group. This is a role for a candidate with strong technical skills and will include responsibility for software development, testing, and release for all of GM’s Thermal Systems for BEV, PHEV and ICE Vehicles, acting as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Build an environment in which the ART can execute, collaborate and innovate

Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning and execution, collaborating with key stakeholders to communicate the ART vision and objectives

Enable the ART to provide continuous and predictable flow of value by leading: feature estimation and tracking, risk and dependency management, impediment tracking and escalation

Provide visibility of ART status and issues to management

Enforce team practices and rules, help resolve impediments, identify and manage risks, facilitate efficiency, and increase the probability of success in each sprint

Champion accountability within and outside the team

Promote continuous improvement, identify bottlenecks and create actionable improvement plans

Monitor success indicators, support process audits, and implement practices for Built-In Quality, DevOps and CI/CD



Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) ​

BS in Engineering (electrical, mechatronics, mechanical, software, computer) or Computer Science

5+ years of automotive engineering experience with demonstrated technical and professional skills in systems engineering and/or embedded controls development

Experience working in an agile environment

Experience with Change Management and software configuration management processes and tools (e.g. JIRA, Git Ecosystem, Power Bi)

Hands-on proficiency with C, C++, MATLAB/SIMULINK or Python

Demonstrated leadership, political savvy, organizational agility and ability to deal with ambiguity

Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, presentation, project management and facilitation skills

Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, obtain alignment, and resolve conflict across diverse groups of individuals and teams

Demonstrated problem solving skills and drive for results, particularly in unusual and complex situations

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications) :

2+ years of experience as a Scrum Lead

Experience in Automotive Thermal Management Systems
