Job Overview

The Art Director for Standard Asia leads the creative visual direction across all design and visual projects for The Standard and The StandardX brands in Asia. Responsible for maintaining the distinct aesthetic and identity of the brands, ensuring that The Standard’s creative essence is consistently reflected across digital, print, and experiential media. This role involves close collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams—including design, marketing, and other departments— to deliver high-quality visual assets that reinforce the brand’s identity and resonate with the audience.

Duties Responsibilities

• Develop brand communication assets to support business objectives across Asia.

• Create and develop visual identities for both existing and new properties, including graphic design, wayfinding, FB sub-brands, and collateral (online and offline).

• Produce brand assets for both existing and new properties, including photos, videos, digital ads, social media content, and newsletters.

• Supervise all online and offline communication originating from the property level, ensuring the maintenance of brand integrity.

• Create pitch decks for business development purposes.

• Provide art direction for all retail and cultural activations at both the brand and property levels.

• Develop visual communication guidelines for both on-property and external collateral

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

• Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience in design, with at least 3–5 years in a senior creative or art direction role, preferably within hospitality, lifestyle, or related industries.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in branding, graphic design, photography, video, and multimedia campaigns.

• Proven ability to develop and execute visual identities for brands, properties, and sub-brands across digital, print, and experiential platforms.

• Experience in supervising creative output across various channels, ensuring consistency and brand alignment.

• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, ) and familiarity with emerging design tools and technologies. Autodesk 3ds and UI/UX design is a plus.

• Solid understanding of visual communication, typography, layout, color theory, and digital storytelling.

• Experience in art direction for photoshoots, video production, retail, cultural activations, or lifestyle campaigns.

• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

• Excellent collaboration skills; proven experience working with cross-functional teams (marketing, design, business development, operations).

• Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in additional Asian languages is a plus.

• Culturally sensitive and capable of adapting design concepts to resonate with diverse audiences across Asia.
