Job Summary:

The Public Safety Officer will provide property owners, guests, day visitors, contractors and employees with an exceptional guest service experience and greet all guests in a friendly, inviting and welcoming manner on a daily basis both at the Main gate and at individual residences.  Respond to alarms and emergencies. Know and enforce all Arrowhead rules, regulations and covenants for owners and guests staying in or visiting Arrowhead. Problem solving and sound decision making based on knowledge of the guidelines and procedures of Arrowhead. Provide and protect an atmosphere respecting the confidentiality and privacy of guests and property owners.  Documentation of all that is done on your shift in a clear and concise manner.  Working scheduled shifts (10 hours) and covering shifts at all hours, including overnight and holidays.

Job Responsibilities:

Answer calls, respond to complaints, and provide information to guests and property owners

Handle difficult situations and conversations in a professional, non-confrontational manner

Monitor community areas for hazards or unusual conditions and assist with resolution

Coordinate with other departments to address and resolve incidents

Respond to residential and commercial alarms

Communicate clearly and professionally with Arrowhead departments and Public Safety staff

Document community incidents and general activity in writing

Control access at main and remote gates

Manage traffic control and parking in the Arrowhead skier lot, including standing outdoors in cold weather for extended periods

Patrol the Arrowhead community on foot and by vehicle, including the garage, village, and river areas

Clean Arrowhead vehicles and the gate house, including the restroom

Issue parking and association violation notices; direct public parking as needed

Deliver packages and manage key access

Assist with vehicle jumpstarts, lockouts, and tow strap use

Remove snow from gate house entrances and surrounding areas

Perform other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Valid Colorado Driver’s License

Acceptable driving record

CPR/First Aid certification, or ability to obtain and maintain

Read, write, and communicate fluently in English

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Ability to stand and sit for extended periods

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl

Ability to work outdoors in cold weather for extended periods

Availability to work weekends and holidays

 

Addtional Job Requirements:

Familiarity with residential and commercial alarm panels and mechanical systems

General knowledge of domestic water sensors and related systems

Ability to operate computerized and mechanical gate systems

Ability to use secure key storage systems

Ability to write clearly and professionally for documentation and communication

Safe and responsible operation of vehicles and personal protective equipment

Ability to safely operate Pepper Ball launching bear deterrent equipment

Respect for confidentiality and privacy of guests and property owners

 

The expected pay range is $20/hr - $23.23/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
