As an Area Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop your own team of Amazon Associates in a sort center environment. Your main focus will be motivating, mentoring and coaching your team. As a servant leader, the Area Manager will ensure that their team of Amazon Associates have all the tools needed to succeed for any task during a shift. Engaging with your team during a shift to ensure that the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance performance and engagement are maintained are core functions of the role. Job Requirements:
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Can lift up to 49 pounds
Locations and placement:
- The position is NOT a remote role and will be located in a Fulfillment Center
Key job responsibilities
- You and your team of warehouse associates are responsible for getting Amazon customers their orders. You are responsible for ensuring that you have properly trained people, and that their needs are addressed so they can focus on their jobs
- You take ownership in your work and team and are available to work overtime during Amazon’s peak holiday season and as needed year-round. You are obsessed with customer experience and understand the importance of a 24/7 operations. You are flexible to work on any type of assigned shift (nights, weekends, etc.)
- Leading and developing a team of 30-80 hourly associates by embodying Amazon’s Leadership Principles
- Proactively identifying and leading process improvement initiatives using Lean tools to delight customers
About the team
The MEX6 Outbound department consists of a dynamic team led by 1 Senior Operations Manager, supported by 3 Operations Managers, and powered by 16 Area Managers. Together, they forge a leadership culture driven by clear metrics and objectives. This dedicated group maintains exceptional quality standards while fostering an engaging work environment across all shifts. Their collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence allow them to create meaningful milestones and leave a lasting legacy in every undertaking.
