Basic Function: Responsible for the oversight of our Maintenance Operations across a geographical region to provide safe, effective and efficient management of all maintenance functions. The position will ensure Operations has a full complement of roadworthy vehicles in line with the service level agreements set forth and in accordance with the outlined financial and operational objectives of our School Bus Business.Responsibilities: Direct and control the company’s fleet and maintenance activities within assigned area while ensuring compliance with all state, federal, contractual and policy requirements. Continually review the maintenance strategy ensuring commercial viability and effective service delivery. Regular communication across all business segments to prioritize workflow and maximize equipment availability as operational dynamics fluctuate Ensure locations are properly equipped with tooling to perform necessary repairs. Accountable for asset availability and appropriate repair decisions to maximize asset uptime. Achieve compliance with agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Directly support, mentor and interact with Maintenance Supervisors or Lead Technicians to achieve/exceed performance goals. Assist with development of performance goals for the shop as a whole and for individuals. Create and execute action plans associated with those goals. Participate in screening, interviewing and selection of the most qualified candidates during the hiring process. Pay range is $175k - $185k Bachelors degree required 7 years of people management experience 7 years of fleet Supervisor experience in a Diesel Shop with Heavy/Med duty fleets preferred Minimum of five years Auto / Truck or Bus mechanical repair experience preferred Lean/Six Sigma Experience preferred Experience with Compliance with the local applicable DOT compliance of Med / Heavy Trucks Prefer ASE Certification as a Master Automotive Technician and/or a Master Truck Technician Must possess leadership and collaborative skills with demonstrated ability to build partnerships with internal and external customers Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Well-developed time-management skills Utmost professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality Must be able to travel; position requires approximately 75-90% field workAt National Express our goal is to be a diverse workforce that is representative of the communities we serve.
