Role Overview
Inspire safety commitment in Client and EPC Contractor teams through deep knowledge of HSE and leadership by example. Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE requirements across the works to promote a healthy and safe work environment. Support Project Manager in overall Afungi site management and be a member of the site Emergency Management Team. Ensure that the team meets necessary performance standards and corporate requirements. Develop a team spirit, foster teamwork, and build trust within the team while encouraging personal and professional development. Immediately report or cascade down any incidents in his area. Coordinate and monitor all construction activities in his area, ensuring adherence to project requirements and construction procedures. Develop strong working relationships with EPC Contractor for routine management and critical issue resolution. Facilitate the development of execution plans, method statements, and other relevant procedures. Ensure physical presence at Site to demonstrate safety commitment and quality oversight. Review construction progress from EPC Contractor, provide inputs to internal reporting systems, and identify risks to the schedule. Analyze current situations and known issues; identify potential risks using technical knowledge and experience. Prepare and monitor the physical execution of Precommissioning and transition to Commissioning. Contribute to project peer assists, peer reviews, and technical assurance reviews. Monitor the effectiveness of the EPC Contractor’s construction management processes. Lead or attend all necessary construction planning meetings.Skills & Qualifications
Strong HSE culture and safety leadership. Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence critical decisions. Deep knowledge of HSE regulations and practices. Ability to develop execution plans and method statements. Strong analytical skills to identify risks and propose solutions. Ability to foster teamwork and build trust within a diverse team.Education & Experience
Degree in Engineering or another relevant subject required; advanced degree or professional qualifications preferred. 15 years’ experience, with at least 5 years at a management level. Minimum 5 years on large greenfield projects, preferably in LNG liquefaction, GTL, petrochemical, refinery, or gas processing/feedstock plants.Pay & Benefits
