Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Architectural Senior Technician to join our growing Architectural team. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of architectural design, supporting our fully integrated team spanning architecture, building engineering, landscape, planning, and asset management.
Main Responsibilities
Prepare precise architectural and technical drawings for civil work and industrial buildings using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM platforms.Support all phases of design delivery, from conceptual layouts and schematic designs through to construction documentation and site support.Review and interpret building codes, zoning laws, and technical guidelines to ensure compliance across design packages.Develop detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models tailored to large-span structures, logistics centers, office complexes, and industrial facilities.Coordinate closely with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to integrate building systems into architectural designs.Assist in preparing technical specifications, reports, and permit-ready submissions.Support site implementation activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.Contribute to master planning and urban design initiatives for industrial zones and business parks.Collaborate with design and drafting teams, ensuring adherence to drawing standards and project schedules.QualificationsMinimum Requirements
Diploma or degree in Architectural Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related discipline.Minimum 6 years of relevant architectural design and documentation experience, including industrial or commercial buildings.Demonstrated proficiency in 2d and 3D design using AutoCAD and BIM software.Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems.Familiarity with building codes and permit processes.Preferred Qualifications
Over 10 years of experience as an architectural designer/technician, with proven expertise in industrial and commercial facilities.Advanced proficiency in 2D AutoCAD, and 3D modeling/rendering software (MicroStation or Revit).Experience preparing full construction document sets and technical drawings for large-scale industrial and commercial developments.Strong conceptual design and visualization skills, with the ability to translate client needs into functional layouts.Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and consultants.Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient design practices.Excellent communication, teamwork, and client-facing skills.Additional InformationSponsorship for obtaining a Canadian work permit is not available for this position.
