Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9-10, 2025. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.

The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Friday, interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking an Architecture Intern to be based in Philadelphia, PA.

This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.

Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Interns work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks.Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture / Architectural Design Degree and must have completed at least one of years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior internship, co-op, or project-based experience in architecture, design, or related disciplinesProficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Rhino, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling/rendering tools a plusStrong design and visualization skills with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to prepare drawings, specifications, and presentation materials in support of project teamsEffective communication and collaboration skills with interest in multidisciplinary teamworkDemonstrated interest in sustainable design, urban planning, or innovative approaches to the built environment
