D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Architect-WA. The right candidate will research, plan, and design building projects for single and multi-family housing. Ensure that all designs follow zoning laws and code regulations, and work with outside firms or other departments to facilitate the timeliness and quality of finished work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Establish the scope, budget, and schedule of a project, and ensure that the project remains within these parametersConsult internally to determine functional requirements of new designs and prepare information regarding specifications, materials, and construction timeUndertake drafting duties using CAD softwareMaintain a knowledge of zoning laws and code regulations for the building region, and ensure that the designs follow these regulationsCoordinate with other departments as neededConsult with outside firms as neededConduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in ArchitectureThree years of related experience with a building firm or architecture firmKnowledge of AutoCAD and RevitAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and peripheral visionThe noise level is generally moderate

Preferred Qualifications

State Architects License Registration (if required)Knowledge of graphics programs such as SketchUp is preferredStrong communication skillsAbility to multi-task and attention to detail
