CDM Smith is looking for an Architect 1 to join our team in the Phoenix office in 2026! You'll be working with a dynamic team of industry leading architects on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects. CDM Smith’s architectural experience encompasses an array of services, including: building space programming, code compliance research, sustainability/green building design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration, building commissioning, value engineering and virtual design and construction. Projects include new construction, building additions, alterations, interior space planning and fit-out, and remodels.
Prepares and produces basic complexity construction contract documents, using approved methods and standards under general supervision. Prepares and produces basic complexity design presentation materials, using approved methods and standards. Coordinates building design formulation and development of construction contract documents with architectural and engineering staff. Collects background information and documentation including “as ‐ built” data and field survey work, as necessary. Researches construction materials, technologies and methodologies as directed. Performs other duties as required.
