Job Description

Under the guidance of the Credit and Collections Supervisor/Manager, the AR/Collections Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining professional and courteous interactions with customers and partners. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and collect on past due invoices while maintaining a commitment to excellence in customer service.

ResponsibilitiesContact customers for past due balances, documenting pertinent information thoroughly (approximately 50 calls per day).Communicate with field personnel regarding past due invoices and disputes.Research and reconcile open issues including credits, unapplied cash, misapplied cash, and disputes.Mail or fax correspondence such as letters and statements.Communicate account changes and updates with corresponding departments.Place or release customer account holds.Collaborate with collection agencies by assigning accounts and responding to inquiries.Provide management with status updates on past due accounts.Work in a highly structured environment with a diverse workforce.Perform other essential duties as assigned by the supervisor.Essential SkillsResearch abilities for reviewing customer accounts and resolving matters.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers, vendors, employees, and management.Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.Capacity to work under pressure and adapt to an ever-changing environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications1+ years of Accounts Receivable experience in a mid-sized company.1+ years of prior collections experience, preferably business to business.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables.High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to type 35 WPM and spend 90% of the workday on the phone.Background in distribution or manufacturing is preferred.Work Environment

This position is based in a corporate office environment and requires working 100% on-site. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
