This role focuses on teaching and training — both in the water and on deck — to build a strong team of skilled instructors and confident swimmers. You will be responsible for mentoring and coaching instructors, ensuring adherence to our curriculum, conducting ongoing skills assessments, and teaching lessons when needed. This role is ideal for an experienced swim instructor or coach who is passionate about aquatic education and developing others. Your Typical Responsibilities + Lead, mentor, and coach the swim instructor team to maintain program excellence and consistency + Conduct initial and ongoing training for instructors to ensure skill growth and adherence to British Swim School teaching methods + Support and supervise classes to maintain safety and quality standards + Teach swimming lessons as needed, including survival and learn-to-swim levels + Oversee certification compliance for instructors (e.g., Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid) + Collaborate with leadership on program improvements and class scheduling to maximize student success + Promote a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment for students and staff Minimum Qualifications + High School diploma or equivalent + Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills + Organizational skills to manage training schedules, certifications, and lesson quality + Comfortable using Microsoft Office or similar tools Preferred Qualifications + 1+ years of experience in swim instruction, coaching, or aquatic program leadership + Specialist aquatics qualifications are desirable, but not required + Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications (may be obtained during training) About Us At British Swim School, we’re more than just a swim lesson provider — we are a mission-driven team dedicated to water safety. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach. We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool.
