Aquatic Scientist Intern - Environmental Services (Fall 2025)

This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success. **Your Opportunity** Stantec is actively seeking on-call Aquatic Scientist Intern (entry-level) support for the Water Resources Group of our Environmental Services team of scientists, engineers, planners and other environmental professionals in our Northern Nevada business unit, based in the Redding and Eureka, CA offices. As an on-call intern, you will be part of a team supporting various environmental work including working on a variety of projects including aquatic ecology, water quality, environmental monitoring, and ecological restoration field programs. You will gain skills, exposure to building client relationships, positioning project pursuits, and industry professionals, where you can find mentorship from within the company. Individuals with qualifications beyond those described below are also encouraged to apply. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-discipline environment and contribute to meaningful restoration, monitoring, and pre-construction projects in the recreation, transportation, water, and energy industries. **Your Responsibilities** + Complete field programs as a crew second. + Complete field programs as an environmental monitor. + Complete quality and completeness checks on field data. + Complete daily field reports and contribute to technical reports or other writing assignments. + Prioritize safety in all tasks. **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Strong ethic and ability to work unsupervised + Willingness to learn and follow directions + Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word + Self-motivated with strong initiative + Creative, resourceful, and detail-oriented + Positive and energetic attitude **Education and Experience** High School diploma. Some college experience preferred. Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters Program in science or biology. Experience with field work, data analysis, laboratory experience, or other experience related to science or biology required. Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Join us and redefine your personal best. **Pay Range:** • Locations in MN, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 33,600.00 - Max Salary $ 45,300.00 **Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
