Approved Auto Repair Service Specialist

AAA East Central currently has an opportunity available in their Approved Auto Repair (AAR) department for a Service Specialist. This position assists with managing and expanding AAA East Central’s Approved Auto Repair Network.

Responsibilities:

Manages AAR service providers to ensure operational compliance with National Automotive Quality Standards.

Inspects approximately 100 facilities annually ensuring ongoing integrity of AAR program.

Prepares annual budget and monthly variance reports for expense areas with significant variance to budget.

Prepares business plans and keeps management briefed on critical issues involving AAR.

Oversees assigned affiliates to provide cost effective attainment of prescribed service expectations ensuring 95% member satisfaction.

Maintains professional qualification needed for the job (Automotive Service Excellence –ASE, customer service skills, automotive skills, etc.)

Provides appropriate reports detailing departmental performance and statistics.

Identifies repair facilities that would meet the Approved Auto Repair criteria. Makes formal presentations to facility owners/management.

Plans for and conducts annual Car Care Month and other events as needed.

Responsible for the timely investigation and resolution of all member inquiries within 48 hours. Exhibits loyalty to AAA East Central; follows AAA East Central policies and procedures. Maintains a professional appearance and exhibits a positive attitude in actions, behaviors and conduct. Contributes to a non-hostile, pleasant working environment Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Director, Automotive Services.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED), minimum two years related experience and/or training.

Certification by Automotive Service excellence (A.S.E.) or equivalent in all areas except manual and automatic transmissions, or required to obtain certification within two testing periods.

Up-to-date technical understanding of automobiles required. 

Three years education, experience, and training in the automotive service industry desired.​

Safe Business Driving Requirements 

Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record

Provide proof of automobile liability insurance at time of hire
