The Commercial Trainee works with the Sales Managers and in coordination with the Commercial Manager, he / she implements all sales activities in his / her area of responsibility. These include coordinating negotiation processes, Letters of Agreement, secretarial backup, hotel inspections or any other specific projects as assigned.

What will I be doing?
\n\nAs the Commercial Trainee you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
\n\n\n\tEnsure that all coming correspondence is replied within 24 hours and put-on trace or file. \n\tMaintain an efficient filing, tracing and correspondence system of the division. \n\tHandle the coordination of follow-up actions by Sales & Marketing team members or other departments with relations to Sales. \n\tPrepare and send out quotations or contracts to travel agents tour operators or related. \n\tMaintain and update mailing lists. \n\tHandle and direct mail activities. \n\tAdminister and coordinate any other Sales activities. \n\tEnsure that collaterals and promotion materials are on hand at all times. \n\tEstablish pricing strategies and sales targets for the hotel. \n\tBe aware of event details related to the accounts of designated Banquet Sales Managers. \n\tAct as liaison with other departments on internal communications, department briefings and Team Member relations. \n\tEnsure the development, update and maintenance of promotional materials. \n\tAssist Sales Managers in liaising with other departments for information, i.e., liaising with Banquet Operations for floor plans and equipment, with the Chef for special menus etc. \n\tMaintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and attitude towards all hotel guests, clients, team member and team members. \n\tPerform related duties and handle special projects as assigned by the Commercial Manager. \n\tAttend daily departmental briefings. \n\tParticipate in discussions. \n\tIssue communications on sales –related information. \n\tWork closely with internal customers. \n\tEnhance on effective and promote response to customers’ needs and follow-up with relevant documents. \n\tDemonstrate honesty, care and nondiscrimination in all our relationships and establish effective team member relations. \n\tEnhance teamwork among colleagues for effective performance. \n\tAssist in ad-hoc projects as assigned by supervising Sales Managers and the Commercial Manager, including site inspections and event followings. \n\tInform clients of current rates as well as any charges in rate by letter, fax and telephone calls. \n\tMaintain high level of exposure for the hotel in major market areas through telephone, fax, contacts and written communications to represent hotel. \n\tAssist the Sale Manager and Executive in conducting hotel inspections for all walk in, meeting group and contracted clients. \n\tInform customers promptly about all hotel information changes. \n\tResponsible for sending out the Post-event Critique Form with Thank You Letter at the end of each event. \n\tTo be aware of the hotel hygiene and food safety control standards and procedures in handling complaints on food hygiene (e.g., food poisoning). \n\tThe Management reserves the right to change / extend this job description if necessary, at any point of time during her / his employment. \n\tCarry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned. \nWhat are we looking for?

\n\n\n\tFollow hotel, departmental rules and SOPs. \n\tFollow up on and maintain an effective and efficient filing system. \n\tCoordinate with Front Office, Banquet and Credit on each booking requirement. \n\tWelcome large groups and ensure smooth check-in, assisting in servicing groups while in house. \n\tEnsure billing instructions are correct and accurate. \n\t Make sure the correct information from clients are passed on to the concerned department promptly. \n\tTrace rooming list and deposit on its due date per contract. \n\tHandle tasks assigned by the Commercial Manager. \n\n\n\n\n
