**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
The Role:
+ The NI Semiconductor BU CCS team is seeking to hire an experienced Applications Engineer (Semiconductor Test Development Engineer) to work on the customer engineering opportunities that enable the sale of standard NI products.
+ The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with NI customers, sales personnel, engineering and alliance partners to define, document, design and deploy NI products tailored to meet specific customer requirements for large scale turnkey engineering solutions.
+ The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge regarding Test Systems (preferably NI products) and system level design, specifically in semiconductor production test industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ This is a multi-functional role dealing with diverse engineering needs to design solutions, and to deploy them worldwide. This role requires daily interaction with NI customers, NI Alliance Partners, NI sales, and NI Engineering Teams.
+ The roles will include:
+ Working and interacting with a wide variety of NI staff and NI Alliance partners in semiconductor test engineering, test program structure, hardware design, and fixture design in support of customer solutions.
+ Generating requirements document that can be to finalize statements of work
+ Defining and implementing project plans, managing project milestones and holding reviews to assure meeting requirements and ready for deployments
+ Hardware Tasks Responsibilities
+ Understand the design and validate analog and digital circuits covering signal interconnect and data communication protocol based on Device Under Test requirements
+ Participate in the creation of integrated NI modular hardware into a turnkey test system based on test requirements
+ Evaluate integrated hardware on system reliability, testing accuracy and total system cost of test
+ RF related knowledge and experience is plus
+ Willing to travel domestically and abroad in support of opportunities and projects (~30%)
+ Support NI system development activities at customer sites
+ Resolve NI system issues at customer sites to meet stability and reliability expectation
+ Work with customers and contract manufacturers to improve NI tester performance
+ React to support urgent NI system issues at customer sites during project
+ Provide guidance and support to NI system operation at customer sites

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ B.S in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology or higher
+ 3+ years of relevant industry experience in a System Design Role, Application Engineering, Technical Field Sales or a Test Engineering Design Role
+ RFIC or mixed-signal IC testing and validation
+ RF FEM, On-Wafer test, IPD, ADC/DAC, LED, MEMS sensor, PMIC &etc.
+ Software and system development, including test case development
+ Text-Based Programming, C++, VB, Java, etc.
+ Test platform software (SmarTest, IG-XL, etc)
+ Major semiconductor ATE platform experience (V93000, Ultra, J750, Pax, etc)
+ Experience in common test engineering instruments: SMU, VSA, VSG, VST, VNA, Power Meter,etc.
+ Demonstrated understanding of the following concepts and principles:
+ Sources of measurement error
+ Appropriate selection of instrumentation and equipment layout
+ Integration of hardware and software
+ Electrical ground and shield concepts
+ Familiar with schematic capture tools and PCB design
+ Statistical analysis of data (Cp, Cpk, GR&R)
+ Demonstrated ability to:
+ Work effectively in a group development environment,
+ Structure problem solving skills - diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions,
+ Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently,
+ Persistently drive tasks and lead projects to successful completion,
+ Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products.
+ Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
+ Semiconductor experience and knowledge such as ATE, handler, prober, on-wafer test, digital test, fabrication …etc.
+ Great written and verbal English communication
+ Strong understanding of electrical engineering, electronics & computer architectures
**Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:**
+ NI PXI platform or NI Labview/TestStand experience (Plus)
+ Experience publishing technical papers and/or presenting in Semiconductor journals and/or conferences (Plus)
