We are seeking a talented individual to join our MMC Corporate team at GIS This role will be based in Noida/Gurgaon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

What can you expect?

The Automated Platform Operations team is recruiting for the position of Cloud Automation Specialist. The role will report directly to the Automated Platform Operations Team Lead, and will be responsible for the assessment, design and development of infrastructure and cloud automation solutions across a wide range of technologies. This is a senior technical role, requiring very strong technical skills. Candidate must have at least five years experience in infrastructure automation and management. Experience developing automation software development using Agile Methodologies (Kanban and Scrum) is also desirable.

The role will involve dealing with internal customers/stakeholders in identifying and documenting requirements for automation initiatives, agreeing design and scope with said stakeholders, and developing and testing the solution. The ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science or development, along with a background in IT or cloud Operations. A strong knowledge Python is required, although proficiency with PowerShell will also be considered. The role involves automation of numerous enterprise applications via their APIs, so strong knowledge of SOAP and REST APIs and associated tools (e.g. PostMan) is essential. The role also requires interaction with database technologies in order to create reporting solutions and metrics for our automation, so the applicant must be comfortable with utilising RDBMS systems (preferably Microsoft SQL Server), connecting to databases, T-SQL CRUD operations and basic database design.

Partnering with internal clients and stakeholders to assess, design and develop solutions to automate IT / cloud infrastructure management processes.Assessing new technologies and automation platforms to ensure that we are using the correct software stack, making sure that we stay current with technology trends in the automation space, and ensuring that we are investing in the correct automation platforms.Developing reporting metrics for any solutions that you develop, ensuring that we can quantitatively measure the impact that automation is having in the environment.Working collaboratively with colleagues to solve problems that exist in the cloud and infrastructure management space.Developing innovative solutions for managing the automation environment, ensuring stability and availability requirements are met.Ensure that all solutions that are developed within the team are fully documented and that they can be supported by other team members.

Experience working with internal clients to define requirements and deliver solutions.Self-starter who can take full responsibility for delivering solutions and working with other groups to overcome obstacles.Must be used to working to an Agile / Kanban delivery model. Knowledge of Azure DevOps Boards and Confluence desirable.Works collaboratively with colleagues to share information and achieve synergies across diverse skillsets.Must be highly risk-aware and always mindful of the high-impact problems that can occur when managing mission-critical infrastructure via automation. All automations developed should have extensive guardrails and safeguards in place to ensure that it cannot negatively affect the operational environment.

What makes you stand out?

Experience working with an automation / orchestration platform like OpenText (formerly Microfocus) Operations Orchestration, Ansible or AWS Step Functions.Must be able to program in the Python language. Proficiency in other languages would also be valuable.Must be able to work with third-party APIs, and be well versed in SOAP, REST, XML and JSON. Should be comfortable working with API testing tools like Postman/SoapUI.A knowledge of Terraform is highly desirable.Exposure to ServiceNow and the ServiceNow API would be advantageous.Should be comfortable working with database platforms like Microsoft SQL Server creating databases, connecting to and querying via SQL / TSQL, etc.Exposure to an API gateway/management tool like WSO2 Enterprise Integrator or AWS API Gateway would be beneficial.Working knowledge/experience in either AWS or Azure cloud environments is crucial for the role.Knowledge of cloud-native automation technologies such as AWS Lambda, EventBridge and Step Functions, or their Azure equivalents (Azure Functions, EventGrid, Azure Logic Apps) is also critical to the role.Knowledge of Generative AI and how it can be utilised to expedite and enhance delivery of automated solutions is important.
