Applications Developer/Engineer Location- Concord, New Hampshire Onsite/hybrid- 4 days onsite Key Technical Skills + MS Access & SQL Server (Primary Skillset) + Access ADP & ACCDB formats + SQL Server (2008 → 2016+ migrations) + SSIS development and migration work + VBA scripting + ASP.NET (potential work) Position Overview The Applications Developer/Engineer will collaborate with the existing development team to support, modernize, and upgrade a portfolio of critical agency applications. A primary responsibility will be rewriting legacy MS Access ADP applications and migrating them to ACCDB format and updated SQL Server environments. Responsibilities + Convert applications from MS Access ADP to MS Access ACCDB . + Migrate backend databases from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2016 or higher , including SSIS job updates. + Work with internal development teams to maintain and enhance application stability and reliability. + Assist in determining strategic direction for future application architecture and technology choices. + Maintain documentation, code versioning best practices, and development standards. + Provide user support and ensure a positive transformation experience during application upgrades. Required Qualifications + Strong experience developing and supporting MS Access and MS SQL Server applications. + Hands-on experience with Access ADP , ACCDB , and SSIS jobs . + Proficiency in VBA and exposure to ASP.NET development. + Experience supporting database migrations and modernizing legacy applications (on ‑ premise and cloud). + Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with users and technical teams with varying technical expertise. + Familiarity with SQL Server administration . + Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT) processes. + Prior experience working in Agile development environments.
