DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Perform code review with application development team prior to application releases. Monitor and perform break and fix activities. Perform Change reviews and implementations. Monitor application health and alerts. Define and implement alerts. Perform and remediate incidents and requests. Perform on call rotations. Perform application capacity reviews. Utilize Production support and finance applications to support production and finance tools into databases for triage and resolution of incidents. Perform application engineering and support utilizing application software engineering including coding, logic reviews, and business requirements to produce new applications and modify existing applications to provide day to day engine support and ensure stability and availability of applications in production supporting internal and external clients. Provide day to day support for applications within the team scope and application ownership to support ServiceNow to manage on call rotations and redistribution of On-Call responsibilities to international team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Application Support, Software Engineer, IT Consultant, IT Analyst, IT Programmer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Utilizing UNIX and shell scripting for executable code deployments; Using tools including Secure CRT to log into Unix servers and use Unix commands for research, maintenance processes, troubleshooting server issues and server based analysis; Using Shell scripting to automate commands and executables for implementing changes and resolving data and system issues; Performing application maintenance and troubleshooting, and system engineering; Using Microsoft Visual Studio to update source code to enhance, maintain and provide features needed by merchants to improve client experience and availability; Working with the end user, relationship managers and implementation managers to understand business needs to build code as a solution that satisfies the business outcomes and meets client expectations; Utilizing data warehousing and reporting applications including OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB; Using SQL queries to access data sets for research and to enhance and resolve customer issues; Using IntelliJ and TOAD to deep dive into commerce center and core reporting applications to reconcile and troubleshoot data discrepancies; Utilizing Oracle to run predefined queries on production datasets for research and troubleshooting; Utilizing Unix server level access at console level for research applications management, troubleshooting and CLI commands to provide via ServiceNow knowledge docs; Working with monitoring tools to assist in triage, diagnose and solve issues or incidents; Providing alert responses to alarms and research application issues to diagnose issues; Disaster Recovery planning and test execution; Implementing customized reporting application development and providing enhancements to existing reporting applications; Utilizing Application Infrastructure; Reading customer requirement documents and specifications documents to drive solutions by designing and coding the solution based upon the requirements; Maintaining and supporting a code base and providing enhancements from a user base; Utilizing Goo for Scheduling Tools including Autosys and JIRA; Scheduling and maintaining day to day activities in support of customer deliverables; Using Incident Management and Change Management support change tools including SNOW; Accessing ServiceNow to manage incidents within a platform and using the change module to create, track and support change activities; Utilizing applications including Service Now from business and technical standpoint on wiki for knowledge sharing purposes; Creating and maintaining knowledge of documents using Confluence, ServiceNow and wiki for capturing problems and issues and using these documents for internal knowledge sharing and providing quarterly knowledge sharing; Utilizing Python, DB, and Unix scripting; Using the ROTA tool and confluence to capture, track and maintain applications and using these tools for hand over support and root cause analysis.
