Application Project Manager
Job Description Oakland County is seeking experienced Application Project Managers to lead the planning, delivery, and ongoing support of IT initiatives across County departments, including implementations and integrations of COTS/SaaS solutions and enhancements to internally developed applications. The PM provides hands‑on leadership over scope, schedule, budget, quality, vendor coordination, and key deliverables while guiding projects through formal RFI/RFP processes and ensuring compliance with technical, security, and governance standards. This role partners closely with business units and technical teams to deliver secure, reliable technology solutions using Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery methods. Compensation: $40-70 Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law. Skills and Requirements 5+ years of application project management experience Strong communication, presentation, and customer‑relationship skills Experience with COTS/SaaS implementations and vendor management Hands‑on creation of requirements, testing plans, and implementation documentation Familiarity with RFI/RFP processes and cross‑department coordination Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality using structured methodologies Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Clarity PPM, and Azure DevOps Ability to ensure adherence to technical, security, and governance standards Experience in government or public‑sector IT Background working with hybrid cloud/on‑prem environments and API‑based integrations Comfort managing 4–8 person blended technical and business teams
