Key job responsibilities
Lead technical initiatives and provide subject matter expertise for one or more services, acting as a trusted resource across the organization for complex technical questions and cross-team planning
Design, develop, and optimize high-performing scripts and applications that automate complex workflows and improve operational efficiency
Investigate and resolve the most complex support issues by performing thorough analysis, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions
Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, technical mentoring, and career development conversations, while contributing to hiring and training efforts
Establish and improve service standards by collaborating with management and development teams to define service level agreements, metrics, monitoring procedures, and documentation
A day in the life
As an Application Engineer, you'll divide your time between technical leadership and hands-on problem-solving. You might start your morning reviewing support metrics and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify optimization opportunities for our services. Mid-day, you could be diving deep into a complex technical issue, analyzing root causes, and designing solutions that improve our operational efficiency. You'll also spend time mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and technical discussions, sharing knowledge from your experience. Your role includes on-call responsibilities where you'll respond to critical incidents, troubleshoot application infrastructure issues, and drive resolutions. You'll also work directly with clients, onboarding them to our platform and ensuring they understand its capabilities and features.
