**Overview**
Application Development Technology Lead Analyst is a leadership role responsible for transforming complex business challenges into actionable data-driven insights within the CGW Lending domain. This individual will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, product teams and development teams, leveraging advanced SQL and data analysis expertise to support strategic decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role demands a blend of deep analytical prowess, strong business acumen, and the ability to lead and mentor.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Strategic Partnership:** Act as a key partner to CGW Lending Business, product leads, and Credit Risk & Controls, translating complex business questions into precise data requirements and analytical solutions. **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Collaborate extensively with global and regional business product owners, product control, business change managers, and technology teams to understand, define, and deliver data solutions supporting mandatory, discretionary, and regulatory requirements. **Data Analysis & Reporting Leadership:** Lead and manage data analysis, reporting, process digitization initiatives within the CGW Lending space, ensuring the delivery of strategic, high-quality data solutions globally. **Data Architecture & Integration Input:** Provide input on data architecture design and integration strategies for analytical purposes, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and consistency across Citi's internal and external data sources. **Business Requirements Elicitation & Management:** Elicit, document, and manage detailed data and reporting requirements, translating business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications for data engineering and analytics teams. **Advanced Data Problem Solving:** Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify root causes of complex business and system problems, providing interpretive thinking to develop innovative, data-driven solutions and recommendations. **Data Expertise & Best Practices:** Serve as a subject matter expert in data modeling and SQL optimization. Ensure all data solutions align with established data architecture principles and business goals. **Mentorship & Coaching:** Mentor and coach mid-level data analysts and business analysts, guiding them in data extraction, analysis techniques, data visualization, and best practices. **Data-Driven Risk & Compliance:** Assess risk through a data-centric lens when business decisions are made, safeguarding Citigroup's reputation and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations through accurate and transparent data reporting and analysis.
**Required Skills & Qualifications**
**Experience**
+ 12+ years of progressive experience in data analysis, business analysis, or data engineering roles preferably exposure to the lending domain.
+ Proven experience leading data initiatives and projects, preferably in large-scale financial services environments.
**Technical Skills**
+ **Database & SQL Expertise:** Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction, manipulation, and analysis across various database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases).
+ **Data Exchange Formats:** Knowledge and experience with various data exchange formats (e.g., JSON, XML, RDF) for data interfacing.
+ **Web Service Integration:** Understanding of web service integration (REST, SOAP, Swagger/OpenAPI) for data consumption.
+ **Container Technologies:** Familiarity with container technologies and related frameworks will be an advantage.
+ **Development Tools:** Experience with CI/CD and development tools like Git, BitBucket, Jira for managing data initiatives.
**Business Acumen & Analytical Skills**
+ **Financial Instruments & Products:** Knowledge of financial instruments, their accounting and bookkeeping principles across Lending, Banking and Investment products.
+ **Project Methodologies:** Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) in the context of data projects, utilizing tools like JIRA and Confluence.
+ **Problem Solving:** Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data challenges, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
+ **Communication & Influence:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with all levels of staff, influence stakeholders, and gain support for new ideas.
+ **Self-Motivation & Leadership:** Self-motivated, proactive, action-oriented individual with strong personal accountability. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
