In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centres (Delivery Centres), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. As an Associate Application Developer, you’ll help design, build, and integrate applications using modern tools and emerging technologies. You’ll be part of agile teams, working with clients to turn system requirements into scalable, impactful solutions. What You’ll Work on as an Associate Application Developer: * Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements * Turn these requirements into solution designs, documenting system architecture and key design decisions * Design, develop, and integrate application components across the full stack (backend, frontend, databases) * Write clean, maintainable, reusable code and ensure overall code quality while working with a broad ecosystem of cloud technologies and software frameworks * Contribute to code reviews, troubleshooting, automation, and performance tuning * Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and other technical problems * Support Technical Consultants and provide technical guidance to teammates You could be placed on any of the below roles * Application Developer-Java & Web Technologies * Application Developer-AWS Cloud Fullstack * Application Developer-Azure Cloud Fullstack Application Deadline: The closing date for applications is Friday, 30th January. Assessment Availability Requirements: Assessment Centres will be scheduled in February. Your availability for these dates is critical as they are mandatory and there will be no option to choose. Spots are limited, so please ensure your calendar is clear. **Required technical and professional expertise** Technical Experience * Experience with at least one programming language (such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar) * Understanding of application development concepts across frontend or backend * Familiarity with development using software frameworks, developing or integrating with APIs, using databases and version control * Exposure to Agile ways of working * Ability to troubleshoot issues and learn new technologies quickly * Basic understanding of cloud, containerisation, and CI/CD is beneficial * Knowledge of automated/unit testing Required Professional Skills * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools and approaches * Ability to think through problems and propose and work through solutions * Openness to feedback and continuous improvement * Comfort working in fast‑moving, agile teams Required Education Qualifications Predicted a 2:1 Bachelor's Degree or achieved in a STEM, Economics, Statistical degree or similar.
