Application Administrators III (AAs) are responsible for ensuring the good functioning of applications used by an organization. Job duties of an Application Administrator include preparing servers, installing and configuring software, loading data, doing maintenance work, accommodating changes required by clients, support and troubleshoot applications, minimizing downtime. AAs are also responsible for the release management process, creating and maintaining CI/CD Pipelines, and performing code development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Executes the subject matter expert role in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications for production line, and critical functional areas.
+ Coordinates cross-functional teams to solve incidents in critical applications.
+ Participates/Coordinates deployments for new/existing applications.
+ Builds, maintains, and improves Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines.
+ Troubleshoots applications from the infrastructure level (servers, databases, connectivity).
+ Troubleshoots application at code level, can debug the code using IDE, and code repositories.
+ Develops code fixes for issues detected in the applications.
+ Participates in disaster recovery plans, strategy, validation, and execution.
+ Participates in application testing, with developers, and end users.
+ Identifies and documents issues and improvements in applications, as an input for development teams.
+ Understands business processes, functional areas, and key users for critical applications.
+ Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing to meet business requirements.
+ May participate on software development projects.
+ May provide consultation/training to users in the area of production systems.
+ May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of experience, or Masters + 6 years of related experience.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience actively working on IT projects of medium size and/or scope with complex matrixed teams.
PREFERRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
+ Fluent English, both in speaking and writing
+ Oral and written communication skills.
+ Interpersonal and consultative skills.
+ Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
+ The ability to work independently and efficiently
+ Familiar with manufacturing environments, and ERP/SFC/MES solutions.
+ Ability to provide outstanding customer service, be a good listener and work well with others.
+ Knowledge on Software Development Life Cycle Process, Agile/Scrum methodologies, Creating/executing Test Plans, coordinating User Acceptance Tests.
+ Experience on documenting business requirements, scope of work, process diagrams, etc.
TECHNNICAL SKILLS
+ Strong background in MS SQL Server, MS SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services
+ Understanding of database structures and fluency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
+ Knowledge on Microsoft Windows and Linux server administration
+ Knowledge on Kubernetes
+ Experience with Source Control (GitHub)
+ Knowledge on in C# programming language, .Net / .NetCore / MVC / Web API
+ Documentation skills, including clear code comments, technical specifications, test cases
+ Knowledge in Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, others) . Certification is a plus
+ Experience building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
