ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Women’s Apparel Designer, you will ensure that styles developed are trend relevant, meet quality expectations and value proposition to support global customer needs in partnership with the Design Director. You’ll partner with design leadership to aligned on assortment direction. As the Designer you are responsible for ensuring maintaining accurate information in tech packs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Support the development of all assigned styles in partnership with Senior Designer.Manage timeline developments for all projects and ensure tech pack accuracy in flex plm.Partner with the Senior Development Materials, Costing, and Merchandising teams by initiating and developing fabrics, trims, and prints that achieve costing and aesthetic goals for the season. Research domestic and global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, product categories and competitive inspiration.Develop strong internal cross functional relationships with Merchandising, Product Development, Technical design, and Materials to ensure product concept to production timelines are met.Partner with Design Director to align on fit intent; clearly communicate direction to Technical Design.Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment, with the ability to juggle multiple seasons at one time and track development deadlines.Communicate challenges in a timely manner with recommended solves.Possess an elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color and understand how to translate trends through the lens of the customer and brand filter.Knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trim.WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Ability to identify market trends as they shift.Responsible for maintaining accurate information in Flex PLM.High level of knowledge and proficiency in both Photoshop and Illustrator.Strong sense of color.Creative and self-motivated.Detail oriented.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to integrate feedback to meet internal objectives.Reliably meet deadlines and work quickly.REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of applied experience working as an Apparel Designer.Degree in Apparel of Product Design.Understanding of garment production.Advanced Adobe Programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign etc.) skills required.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer programs.Experience with Mac.Strong knowledge of Flex PLM.The pay range for this position is $90,000-$100,000/yr USD.
