ABOUT THE ROLE:
As an Apparel Design Intern, you will partner with Apparel Designers to ensure that styles developed are trend relevant and meet quality expectations to support global customer needs. You will support creating tech packs, reviewing and organizing fabric and trims, and stay attuned to market trends to inspire fresh, commercially viable designs. Collaborating closely with merchandisers, design directors, and fabric teams, you will support the team with needed tasks.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Support the development of all assigned styles in partnership with Senior DesignerSupport the creation of tech packs and maintaining FLEX PLMSupport selection of seasonal materials and trims in partnership with the Senior Designer Research domestic and global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, product categories and competitive inspirationDevelop strong internal cross functional relationships with Merchandising, Product Development, Technical design, and Materials to ensure product concept to production timelines are metHelp to execute sketch updates post fittings and take clear notesPartner closely with manager to understand workload priorities and development calendarWHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Possess an elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color and understand how to translate trends through the lens of the customer and brand filterKnowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trimCreative and self-motivatedDetail orientedExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to integrate feedback to meet internal objectivesReliably meet deadlines and work quicklyAbility to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environmentREQUIREMENTS:
Pursuing a Degree in Apparel, Fashion Design or other related disciplineUnderstanding of garment productionAdvanced Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign etc.) skills requiredKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer programsExperience with MacThe pay range for this role is $25/hr.
