Chemours is seeking a **Technical Service Laboratory Technician** to join our growing APM team. This position will be available at the Chemours International Operations Sàrl, 146, route du Nant-D’Avril
CH-1217 Meyrin, Switzerland and report directly to the EMEA Technical Marketing Fluoropolymers Supervisor.
The Technical Service Laboratory Technician involves hands-on fluoropolymer processing and polymer testing with guidance from Engineers and Scientists. Primary duties include polymer extrusion and molding, conducting key lab tests, and maintaining analytical tools. The technician ensures safe, efficient and quality operations in both polymer processing and laboratory tests.
**The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following**
+ Ensure adherence to the company core values and maintain laboratory safety protocols along with regulatory guidelines.
+ Operate Fluoropolymer process equipment such as extrusion and molding.
+ Monitor, adjust, and document process parameters to ensure consistent output quality
+ Perform key polymer testing, report and evaluate results for tests such as:
+ Melt Flow Rate (MFR), rheology
+ Volatiles and density assessments
+ FTIR and dispersion analysis
+ Mechanical properties (e.g. tensile, hardness, MIT flexlife)
+ Thermal and chemical aging
+ Thermal analyses (e.g. DSC, TGA, TMA)
+ Other tests as needed
+ Record, evaluation and report processing and test results
+ Ensure all process and testing equipment is calibrated, maintained, and safe to operate.Timely review standards operating, processing and testing procedures.
+ Maintain records and control systems related to process and lab environments
+ Preparation of samples as requested by internal and external customers.
+ Carry out administrative and safety-related tasks such as safety audits, inventory tracking, waste management, and compliance activities
**The following is** **_required_** **for this role:**
+ Certified as a chemical, mechanical, electrical or polymer technician (Swiss CFC) or higher
+ At least 1 year of experience in polymer processing (extrusion, molding, etc.) required;
+ 3 years preferred
**The following is** **_preferred_** **for this role:**
+ Experience operating and troubleshooting extrusion, molding, and other process equipment specifically for fluoropolymers
+ Familiarity with polymer test methods and standards
+ Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced computing skills (data logging, computer assisted design); statistical analysis is a plus
+ Fluent in either French or English, with conversational ability in both languages
+ Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced technical environment
