APE Teacher- Santa Maria, CA
Salary: $3039 / Week Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, the Adapted PE Teacher (APE) develops, adapts and implements specialized physical education programs in the motor domain for individual students. The APE teacher positively motivates the student to develop appropriate skills, attitudes, and knowledge; utilizes a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to students’ abilities; and creates a safe and orderly learning environment in collaboration with school teams. Experience: Three years of teaching experience, preferred. Experience working with special needs students in group situations and/or classroom environment, preferred. Education: California preliminary or clear credential (Single Subject Physical Education, Multiple Subject or Education Specialist) with an Adapted Physical Education (APE) authorization or ability to obtain an APE authorization required.
