Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the world’s largest cloud infrastructures, responsible for powering Microsoft’s online products and services and enabling its “Cloud First” mission. The role owns defined scopes of work from discovery through delivery, applying sound program judgment to translate business and technical needs into predictable, scalable outcomes.Designed as an early‑career Technical Program Management opportunity, this role provides broad exposure across solution management, governance, and operational enablement. With mentorship and coaching, the role enables individuals to independently own workstreams, manage risks and dependencies, and drive execution outcomes, with increasing scope and complexity as capability and confidence grow.
**Responsibilities**
+ Structured Discovery & Intake
+ Lead structured discovery activities for emerging or moderately complex problem spaces, with guidance.
+ Own documentation of problem statements, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and success criteria.
+ Partner with solution leads to translate business and technical needs into executable delivery approaches.
+ Solution Design & Delivery
+ Apply technical program judgment to evaluate solution options, delivery trade‑offs, implementation risks, and constraints.
+ Participate in reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement cycles to improve predictability, quality, and delivery outcomes.
+ Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
+ Create and deliver clear, concise artefacts including slide content, status updates, dashboards, and written communications.
+ Engage effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders across engineering, operations, and business teams to drive alignment and execution.
+ Build confidence presenting recommendations, updates, and risks, incorporating feedback and coaching.
+ Risk, Issues & Dependency Management
+ Own risk, issue, and dependency management across assigned initiatives and workstreams.
+ Proactively identify emerging risks, cross‑team impacts, and mitigation options.
+ Escalate risks and issues with clarity, context, and recommended actions.
+ Process & Quality Enablement
+ Lead documentation and standardisation of core processes, playbooks, and ways of working.
+ Support quality checks, process adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Identify systemic gaps and inefficiencies and contribute to sustainable process improvements.
+ Tooling & Automation
+ Define requirements and support the adoption and improvement of delivery tools, templates, and workflows.
+ Contribute to automation initiatives through requirements definition, data validation, user testing, and feedback cycles.
+ Analytics & Reporting
+ Translate data into insights, trends, and recommendations that support informed decision‑making.
+ Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reporting hygiene.
+ Governance & Compliance
+ Ensure data handling, reporting, and tooling align with Microsoft security, compliance, and quality standards
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 2–4 years’ experience in program management, project delivery, operations, analytics, or process improvement roles.
+ Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
+ Comfort structuring problems, managing execution, and working with data.
+ Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with competing priorities.
**While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience supporting or delivering programs across technical or engineering teams in Data Centre industry.
+ Experience with reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, dashboards).
+ Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Agile).
+ Interest in tooling, automation, and data‑driven decision‑making.
**Background Check Requirements:**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
