AP & Payroll Manager
Description We are looking for an experienced AP & Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and accounts payable functions in The greater Worcester area. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient payment processing, compliance with regulatory standards, and seamless collaboration across departments. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and driving process improvements. in both areas of Payroll and Accounts payable Responsibilities: • Manage and lead the accounts payable and payroll team, providing guidance and support to ensure operational efficiency. • Oversee invoice and credit processing across multiple sites, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and adherence to control procedures. • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards to mitigate financial risks and maintain operational accuracy. • Supervise the preparation and filing of 1099 and 1042 forms in accordance with regulations. • Serve as the liaison for payables management across departments, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining effective communication. • Process bi-weekly payroll with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, while identifying opportunities for process enhancements. • Ensure proper deductions for taxes, benefits, and other payroll-related items, maintaining accuracy in all aspects of payroll processing. • Provide training and backup coverage to support team development and ensure continuity in payroll operations. • Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile payroll with the general ledger, review tax filings, and assist with year-end W2 processing. • Identify trends and implement system improvements to ensure audit readiness and full compliance with regulatory requirements. For immediate consideration please reach out to me directly 508-205-2127 Eric Lebow Requirements • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of related accounts payable and payroll experience; experience in a hospital setting is a plus. • Proficient in managing full-cycle payroll for over 500 employees across multiple sites, including exempt, non-exempt, and per diem staff. • Solid understanding of accounts payable processes, including handling high-volume invoices and overseeing 1099/1042 filings. • Familiarity with payroll systems, such as ADP Workforce Now and Great Plains, with the ability to adapt to system integrations. • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Capable of managing stress effectively and meeting tight deadlines with precision and professionalism. • Demonstrated ability to stay current with developments in the accounting field and exercise sound judgment in decision-making. • Proven expertise in payroll reconciliation, tax filings, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
