Job Title: AP/AR Accounting Manager
Job Description

The AP/AR Accounting Manager oversees day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable operations while leading a team of 4–5 accounting professionals in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This hands-on, operational role focuses on accuracy, process discipline, and timely execution, with significant responsibility for month-end close, internal controls, and continuous process improvement. The position requires strong leadership skills, deep experience with Oracle Fusion ERP, and the ability to communicate effectively with leadership while balancing speed and accuracy.

ResponsibilitiesOversee daily accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, including invoicing, cash application, collections, vendor payments, and reconciliations.Manage AR aging to support healthy cash flow and proactively resolve billing and payment issues.Lead and develop a team of 4–5 AP/AR staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, and day-to-day oversight.Serve as a working manager, actively processing and reviewing transactions while acting as the escalation point for complex AP/AR issues.Own and support month-end close activities related to AP, AR, allocations, and accruals to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.Utilize Oracle Fusion ERP for AP, AR, reporting, and close activities, including navigating workflows, approvals, reconciliations, and transactional reporting.Identify process gaps and implement improvements and system-driven efficiencies within Oracle Fusion without disrupting daily operations.Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to accounting policies to ensure audit readiness and compliance.Troubleshoot complex AP/AR issues independently, balancing speed and accuracy in a high-volume environment.Communicate clearly and regularly with leadership regarding risks, trends, priorities, and operational performance.Collaborate with remote and onsite leadership and internal partners to support shared services accounting across multiple divisions.Remain visible and engaged onsite with the team, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture.Essential SkillsProven experience overseeing day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, cash application, collections, vendor payments, and reconciliations.Hands-on knowledge of month-end close activities related to AP, AR, allocations, and accruals.Proficient, hands-on experience using Oracle Fusion ERP for AP, AR, reporting, and close activities.Ability to navigate ERP workflows, approvals, reconciliations, and transactional reporting within Oracle Fusion.Experience leading and developing a team of approximately 4–5 AP/AR staff in a high-volume environment.Strong understanding of internal controls, accounting policies, and audit readiness requirements.Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps and implement improvements while maintaining operational continuity.Ability to manage AR aging, resolve billing and payment issues, and maintain healthy cash flow.Capability to step in and troubleshoot complex AP/AR issues with minimal guidance.Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey risks, trends, and priorities to leadership.Comfort working onsite and remaining highly engaged with the accounting team on a daily basis.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle ambiguity during periods of change.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.Prior management experience preferred; strong senior-level or lead experience in AP/AR operations is acceptable.Experience working with both remote and onsite leadership teams.Background in a shared services accounting environment supporting multiple divisions is beneficial.Demonstrated ability to balance speed and accuracy in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.Comfort serving as a working manager who is both strategic and hands-on in daily operations.Work Environment

This is an onsite, office-based role located in Creve Coeur, MO, within a shared services accounting environment that supports multiple divisions. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility for additional hours during month-end close, escalations, or system stabilization periods. The AP/AR Accounting Manager works closely with a team of AP and AR professionals in a collaborative, fast-paced setting that emphasizes regular communication and daily coordination. The role involves frequent interaction with accounting staff and internal partners, and requires being visible, accessible, and actively engaged with the team on a daily basis while working extensively within Oracle Fusion ERP and related office technologies.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
