Job DescriptionModem Test Engineer in Architecture and Networking Solutions Product Line 2 (Telematics) Korea
Position Overview:
The Test Engineer to join our Telematics R&D team, supporting the validation of next-generation Telematics Control Units (TCUs) for leading global automotive OEMs. Execute and develop test cases across multiple telematics domains, including cellular (LTE/5G), GNSS, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and vehicle networks (CAN/LIN), ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability for automotive-grade telematics products.
Responsibilities:
Perform modem/module-level validation of Telematics Control Units (TCUs) against customer and internal requirements.
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for cellular (LTE/5G), GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, CAN, and LIN functionalities.
Conduct field tests and bench tests, analyzing network behaviors and system performance under various conditions.
Capture and analyze logs using diagnostic tools (QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, CANalyzer, CANoe).
Support test automation development and contribute to the continuous improvement of validation processes.
Work closely with development, system engineering, and customer teams to reproduce and troubleshoot issues.
Document test results, log defects, and track issues through resolution.
Support OTA update validation and vehicle diagnostics (UDS) testing.
Assist in certification and regulatory testing activities (e.g., FCC, PTCRB, GCF).
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in embedded systems, wireless communication, or automotive system validation.
Familiarity with cellular (LTE/5G) networks and GNSS technologies.
Basic understanding of CAN, LIN, Ethernet protocols.
Experience with testing tools such as QXDM, Wireshark, CANalyzer, or similar.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for reporting and coordination.
Additional InformationPreferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with Telematics products, infotainment systems, or automotive ECUs.
Knowledge of scripting languages for test automation (Python, CAPL, or similar).
Familiarity with OTA/FOTA update processes and basic cybersecurity principles.
Exposure to automotive standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, or ISO 21434 (cybersecurity).
