As a Research AHT, you will monitor and support the health and well-being of animals in the Biological Research Unit at Cleveland Clinic utilized in foundational pre-clinical trials and studies. In this role, you will ensure they have adequate supplies, food and clean enclosures to prevent illness and discomfort while directly supporting foundational pre-clinical research that will one day improve the lives of patients around the world. This position offers opportunities for growth and personal development through comprehensive onboarding, cross-training, shadowing experiences, access to the AALAS Learning Library, and additional professional resources available through the Cleveland Clinic. **A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Monitor and care for the health and well-being of animals housed in the Biological Resources Unit (BRU). + Perform daily health observations and monitor the condition of research animals. + Provide custodial care, fresh feed and fresh water for animals according to the standard operating procedures. + Write up health reports for the vet team. + Receive animal shipments and complete required documentation. + Maintain and adequately supply the areas used for technical procedures. + Transport supplies, equipment and animals to and from various locations.
