Animal Care Technician III
Position: Animal Science Technician – In Vivo Pharmacology

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented technician with hands-on experience in rodent handling, dosing, and sample collection to support in vivo pharmacology studies. This role is essential to the execution of high-quality research within the NNRC rodent facility and involves close collaboration with scientific and technical teams.


Key Responsibilities:Perform routine and advanced rodent handling and in-life measurements.Administer dosing via multiple routes, including oral (PO), intraperitoneal (IP), and subcutaneous (SC).Conduct blood collection, sample processing, and data recording for pharmacology studies.Monitor animal health and perform daily food and wellness checks.Assist with anesthesia, euthanasia, and post-procedural care.Perform necropsy and tissue collection as needed.Maintain accurate inventory of animal care and research supplies.Ensure compliance with SOPs and quality assurance standards related to laboratory animal care.Provide technical support for injections and other procedures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Laboratory Animal Sciences, Lab Operations, and Research Scientists both locally and globally.Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience in animal science or laboratory support.Bachelor’s degree preferred.Proficient in rodent handling, dosing techniques, and sample collection.Experience with animal anesthesia, euthanasia, and post-surgical monitoring.Familiarity with necropsy procedures and tissue harvesting.Strong understanding of SOPs, QA standards, and ethical animal care practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $29.33/hr.
