This position includes an appointment to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Current cardiac clinical practice includes coronary bypass surgery, cardiac valve surgery, aortic surgery and heart transplantation. The thoracic surgery caseload includes complex thoracic and foregut surgery, a burgeoning robotic surgery program and a newly re-established lung transplant program. The ideal candidate would be in possession of lung transplant and heart transplant experience. The candidate would also be expected to be actively involved in resident teaching, clinical research and have a desire to advance those programs at Mayo Clinic. We have a total of 16 residents in the program accredited for 7 residents per year.
