Responsibilities Contribute to the design and development of the infotainment applications on Rivian and Volkswagen Group Android-based OS. Create modular and scalable software that can adapt to a variety of different products and use cases. Identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks for performance optimizations. Perform code reviews and apply continuous integration and development practices. Write test code to drive quality, robustness, and functional correctness. Design and implement subsequent application updates and releases. Investigate AOSP codebase to improve application performance and integration. Develop sample and demo applications, making use of our technology. Grow your skills with continual learning, workshops, conferences, and talks. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent practical experience. Experience in Android application development. Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin; exposure to C++ or willingness to learn. Ability to manage your workload with minimal supervision. Experience building Android apps using core Android APIs; familiarity with Jetpack components preferred. Knowledge of Android lifecycle and application interface guidelines. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Android’s performance and testing frameworks. Familiarity with push notifications, APIs and cloud messaging. Prior experience in developing on-vehicle technology. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Ontario Based Applicants: 86,000 CAD - 107,800 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Benefits Summary: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
