The Analytics Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining derived data assets by leveraging advanced analytics techniques, AI/ML models, and graph-based approaches. The Analytics Engineer role focuses on transforming trusted, analytics-curated data—particularly outputs from enterprise semantic models—into normalized, machine-readable structures optimized for modeling, feature extraction, and algorithmic consumption.
The Analytics Engineer does not own enterprise semantic models, business definitions, or metric logic. Instead, this role partners closely with Business Intelligence leadership and Analysts to ensure that business-curated meaning is faithfully represented and efficiently transformed into data products used by machine learning systems and AI-driven applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Designs and builds derived datasets optimized for AI/ML, graph analytics, and advanced analytical workflows
+ Consumes enterprise semantic model outputs as authoritative inputs for downstream engineering
+ Contributes to data science initiatives, including exploratory analysis, feature development, and applied modeling providing advanced analytics and AI-driven use cases
+ Partners with analytics leadership to prototype, test, and operationalize analytical methods, including statistical models, scoring approaches, or machine learning techniques
+ Supports the transition of experimental or analytical models into production-ready data pipelines, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability
+ Normalizes, restructures, and enriches data including:
+ Feature engineering
+ Graph node and edge construction
+ Embeddings and model-ready representations
+ Develops and maintains transformation pipelines using SQL, Python, and analytics engineering best practices
+ Partners with Business Intelligence Analysts and Leads to understand business-curated logic and analytical intent
+ Ensures engineered datasets accurately reflect upstream business definitions and semantic meaning
+ Implements data quality checks and validation routines on derived datasets
+ Documents data transformations, assumptions, and lineage for transparency and reuse
+ Optimizes derived data assets for performance, scalability, and downstream consumption
+ Collaborates with platform or data engineering teams as needed on ingestion or infrastructure alignment
+ Contributes to standards and best practices for analytics engineering, AI data preparation, and graph modeling
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field preferred
+ 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or advanced analytics roles or Masters in a related field
+ Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
+ Experience building normalized, feature-oriented, or model-ready datasets
+ Solid understanding of:
+ Data normalization techniques
+ Analytical data modeling concepts
+ Tradeoffs between human-readable and machine-optimized data structures
+ Ability to translate analytical intent into engineered data products
+ Strong attention to data quality, correctness, and reproducibility
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with analytics and technical stakeholders
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience supporting AI/ML pipelines, graph databases, or feature stores
+ Familiarity with semantic modeling concepts and BI consumption patterns
+ Experience working within cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., Azure, Fabric, or similar)
+ Exposure to recommendation systems, matching algorithms, or knowledge graphs
+ Experience in healthcare, staffing, or workforce analytics (preferred but not required)
