**Please review the following job description:**
• Lead research, analyze, design, develop and/or maintain data sources in support of projects, information needs and business requirements. Perform analysis, validation and interpretation of outputs. Take ownership of issues through resolution, including close coordination between LOB partners and data engineers.
• Develop solutions and recommendations for improving data integrity issues. Analyze data issues and work with development teams for problem resolutions. Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data, identify, analyze and interpret trends and patterns in complex datasets.
• Foster communication and partnership across multiple levels of the organization including engagement with line of business contributors and junior-level managers.
• Work closely with team members and BI Architecture and Reporting Managers concerning data organization, transformations, formatting, OLAP, tool choices etc. to define and implement reporting objectives.
• Apply deep understanding of various quantitative analysis principles and ability to transform data assets to aid in consumption by decision & data scientists across the bank.
• Prioritize and manage ad hoc reporting efforts by providing clear expectations to LOB partners and management.
Requirements
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Math, or related quantitative field plus 5 years of progressive experience in quantitative analysis or data science positions performing/utilizing the following:
o Advanced understanding of statistical methods, including a broad understanding of classical statistics, probability theory, econometrics, time-series, and primary statistical tests.
o Linear algebra concepts for optimization, complex matrix operations, eigenvalue decompositions, and principal components.
o Data analytics life cycle methodologies, including data cleansing and preparation methodologies, including regex, filtering, indexing, interpolation, and outlier treatment.
o Data extraction in a variety of environments, including SQL and JQuery.
o Data warehousing and transactional application data concepts and technology.
o Data engineering and ability to manage large data volumes.
o Managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.
o Utilizing the following: Database environments: IBM DB2, Oracle, Netezza, Hadoop, and Hive; Technical programming skills with: SQL, SAS, and Toad; Applied Data Science Tools: R, Python, and SAS E-Miner; and Data visualization and BI tools: Tableau and MicroStrategy
• In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Math, or related quantitative field plus 3 years of experience in quantitative analysis or data science positions performing/utilizing the aforementioned.
• Position may be eligible to work remotely but is based out of and reports to Truist offices in Atlanta, GA. Must be available to travel to Atlanta, GA regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
