How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express is looking for a Compliance Analyst for its Market Compliance Office (MCO) team within the Global Compliance & Ethics Business Line. Minimum qualifications Main responsibilities in this role will include: Support in the definition and maintenance of the second level controls plan using a risk-based approach. Participation in compliance risk assessments Perform independent reviews of second line controls using the American Express dedicated methodology. Draft related reports outlining the outcome of the controls, any findings and observations. Store supporting documentation in the dedicated systems/tools. Monitor recommendations follow-up and findings closure. Participate to the consolidated reviews performed by the International Independent Compliance Testing (ICT) team when France is in scope. Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence (COE) team for quality assurance reviews. Support any transversal projects at the request of management. Prepare material for various committees. Draft internal and regulatory reports. Support Compliance-related projects. The second line control themes are diverse: AML (e.g., KYC, transaction monitoring, training, etc.), data protection, complaints management, etc. Preferred qualifications 3 to 5 years of experience in compliance or in a control function, excluding internships and work-study programs. Degree required: Master 2 in Compliance, Internal Control, Internal Audit or Law. Fluent in English (written and spoken). Appetite for financial regulations would be a plus. Microsoft Office management at an intermediate level (mainly Excel, PowerPoint and Word). Team player. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational skills to manage various tasks simultaneously and meet internal and regulatory deadlines. Excellent written/verbal communication and good interpersonal skills.
